Infiltrating bitumen or road grade, which is mostly used to produce asphalt in the road construction industry, is obtained by performing an aeration process on the residue of the distillation tower, which is known as vacuum baton. This bitumen with a penetration degree of 60-70 has a penetration degree of 6 to 7 mm and its softening point is between 49 and 56, bitumen with semi-hard permeability and as a heavy and suitable bitumen is mainly used in the production of hot asphalt for surface coating.
Bitumen 70-60 is one of the most widely used grades of bitumen around the world, which comes in different packages, including: Standard export barrels of 160 kg, standard export barrel of 190 kg, jumbo bag packaging as well as packaging in flexi molds in high volumes and packaging on pallets as well as bulk bitumen.
60/70 Bitumen specifications
The quality of bitumen 60/70 depends on its properties and physical characteristics. Apart from the penetration test, there are a number of tests used to determine 60/70 bitumen including viscosity, softening point, ductility, heat loss and flash point. Some of these items are of greater importance to 60/60 bitumen suppliers and their customers. These are the softening point and flash point. According to the ASTM D36 method, the softening point of bitumen 60/70 is between 49 and 56 °C and the flash point of bitumen 60/70 is 250 °C.
